What the search involves.
A growing substation team at a well-ranked US engineering firm is looking for a staff-level engineer to work design and EPC delivery through 765kV.
This is where engineers actually get good at substation design, instead of just surviving a few years of it. Mentorship here isn't a line in the posting, and promotions come from within once engineers earn it.
Responsibilities

- Develop physical design and protection & control deliverables under senior review
- Help prepare equipment specs and material lists ahead of procurement
- Work across disciplines and take part in client-facing project activity
- Grow toward independently owning budget, schedule, and design quality
Requirements
- 5+ years of substation design exposure, engineering degree required
- Some hands-on time in high-voltage substation design, physical or protection & control
- Ready to grow into budget, schedule, and client-facing ownership
- PE license preferred
Benefits
- Structured mentorship and a fast track to broader project ownership
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-matched retirement, and tuition reimbursement
- An annual performance bonus on top of base pay
- Paid time off, and a flexible hybrid schedule after your first 90 days
- The backing of a Top-10 nationally ranked ENR power engineering firm
