Senior Substation Engineering Manager

This firm's substation practice has outgrown its current leadership bench and is hiring a senior engineering manager to run multidiscipline project teams across a mix of core utility, data centre, and renewables-integration work.

Demand across this region has outpaced the team's current leadership bench, which is exactly why this seat exists. You'd inherit a live portfolio spanning core utility work plus the newer data centre and renewables-integration programs, not build one from a standing start.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-discipline project teams through substation and switchyard delivery for utility clients
• Own the budget, schedule, and quality bar across both design-services and full EPC engagements
• Function as engineering lead of record, coordinating disciplines and reviewing deliverables before issue
• Act as the client's primary technical contact, and pitch in on proposals and business development

Requirements

• 11+ years in utility substation project delivery, engineering degree required
• Deep familiarity with substation layout, protection & controls, and the civil/structural coordination that runs alongside it
• History of running EPC or design-only substation projects for US utilities from kickoff to closeout
• Comfortable leading client conversations, including business development
