A US power engineering firm with one of the busiest substation practices in the country is hiring a senior engineering manager to run multidiscipline project teams across a growing book of design and EPC work, including newer data centre and renewables-interconnection work.

This is one of the busiest substation practices in the country right now, with genuine momentum into data centre and renewables-integration work on top of the core utility book. It's a leadership seat with enough scale behind it to still be interesting five years from now.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multidiscipline engineering teams delivering substation and switchyard scope for utility clients across the US
  • Hold budget, schedule, and quality accountability across a mix of design-only and full EPC engagements
  • Act as engineering lead of record: coordinate design disciplines, review deliverables, and sign off on quality
  • Serve as the client's main technical point of contact, and support proposal and business-development work

Requirements

  • Engineering degree plus 11+ years delivering utility substation projects
  • Strong command of substation layout, protection & controls, and how civil/structural work ties into the rest of the project
  • Prior ownership of EPC or design-only substation work for US utility clients, start to finish
  • Confident in front of clients, including business-development conversations

Benefits

  • A genuine step up from senior engineer into practice and technical leadership, not just a title change
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-matched retirement, and tuition reimbursement
  • An annual performance bonus on top of base pay
  • Paid time off, and a flexible hybrid schedule after your first 90 days
  • The backing of a Top-10 nationally ranked ENR power engineering firm
