A top-ranked power engineering consultancy is hiring a senior electrical engineer to take on a technical specialist or project lead role across substation design and EPC work up to 765kV, including newer data centre and renewables-integration programs.

765kV substation work is where a short list of firms actually compete, and this is one of them. Beyond the core utility book, the group is now feeding some of the largest data centre and renewables-integration programs in the market, so the project variety here is real.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical specialist or project lead on substation design and EPC work up to 765kV
  • Develop protection and control deliverables: relay schemes, panel arrangements, one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics
  • Develop physical design deliverables: yard layout, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary power systems
  • Prepare engineering calculations and studies, and lead QA/QC review of design packages
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and support proposals and business development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering plus 11+ years of substation design experience
  • Deep experience in high-voltage substation physical and/or protection & control design
  • Comfortable owning design budgets, schedules, and client-facing communication
  • PE license strongly preferred

Benefits

  • Recognised technical specialist or project lead track on the highest voltage classes in the industry
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-matched retirement, and tuition reimbursement
  • An annual performance bonus on top of base pay
  • Paid time off, and a flexible hybrid schedule after your first 90 days
  • The backing of a Top-10 nationally ranked ENR power engineering firm
